Tripura is the second largest rubber producer in the
country, after Kerala. More and more plantations are
reaching yielding stage and the productivity levels are also
encouraging. In view of the area under plantations together
with the growth potential and rubber production trends, the
state has been identified as the second rubber capital of
the country. There is a vast potential for setting up of
rubber-based industries in the State.
Natural Rubber based activities has already been declared as
Thrust Sector because of its special significance for the
state. Added benefits under the Tripura Incentive Scheme are
being provided for setting up of natural rubber based
industries in Tripura.
The State Government is setting up one Rubber Park with
technical support of Rubber Board, Government of India. All
common facilities would be created in that park for rubber
